|Broniwan is a small, organic farm close to the west coast of Wales in Ceredigion, (Cardiganshire). We welcome guests to our home, a traditional stone Victorian house built originally for the local doctor in 1867 by his grandfather, who lived in the earlier eighteenth century house, now a converted barn.
There are lovely views of the Preseli hills from pine-panelled windows. Beech trees lining the drive lead up to the gardens surrounding the house. There are forty five acres of meadow and grassland plus a small stream for guests to explore. Two eager dogs are keen to show people around, if allowed.
There are two pretty double bedrooms. One with ensuite shower, the other with private bath and shower. Each bedroom has tea-making facilities. The dining room and sitting room, furnished with country antiques, books and water-colours, look out onto the terraced lawn where finches, nuthatches and our woodpecker come to the feeder.
Meals for guests are prepared from home-grown produce using our own organic beef, eggs, fruit and vegetables where possible. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine.
Ten minutes drive takes you to the coastal paths and beaches. The River Teifi and Welsh Wildlife centre with its otters are nearby. Gardens at Llanerchaeron, at the National Botanical gardens and at Aberglasney are an easy distance away.
